Graduate Medical Education

Welcome to the Department of Graduate Medical Education at Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs, California. We currently offer three accredited residency programs: Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine and Neurological Surgery. We are committed to providing our residents with the best teaching and clinical experience possible. Our programs fully prepare residents for the independent practice of medicine and inspire lifelong learning critical for achieving professional growth.

Founded in 1948, Desert Regional Medical Center has a long history of providing excellence in medical care. The core service lines include cardiology, orthopedics and neurosciences, neonatal services with the Coachella Valley’s only neonatal intensive care unit, and oncology at the Comprehensive Cancer Center. Currently, there are more than 300 physicians on staff at Desert Regional Medical Center covering more than 40 specialties.

Welcome to Desert Regional Medical Center's Graduate Medical Education Programs. As a Level 1 Trauma Center, we are able to provide a supportive and cohesive academic environment where all our faculty, residents, staff and students work together to provide high-quality patient care, focusing on the community and enhancing healthcare access to those most vulnerable.

The institution is committed to excellence in both education and patient care by providing the resources needed to ensure a strong foundation for the residents and fellows to promote personal and professional growth. Desert Regional Medical Center programs provide outstanding training opportunities that allow residents and fellows to develop strong clinical skills, experiences that build leadership and mentorship skills and scholarly research opportunities.

Our GME team and committee members are dedicated to ensuring that the institution and individual programs follow all accreditation requirements while continuing to promote research, teaching and lifelong learning.
